The Knights of Columbus, Council 544, is a Catholic fraternal organization serving middle Tennessee communities and is headquartered at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Our mission: charity, unity, and fraternity. Originally founded in 1882, by Father Michael J McGivney, the mission was one of charitable service to the Catholic communities and has continued to grow in scope. Pope John Paul II called the Knights of Columbus the “strong right arm of the Catholic church.” Today the Knights number over 2 million members and are over 17,000 councils in strength. We have given over $200 million to charities and registered over 48 million man-hours.
